GCC Games Doha 2026
Team Qatar kept charging on at the GCC Games Doha 2026 when it scored gold in bowling triples and 10-ball billiards along with some more silver and bronze medals for boxing on 14 May 2026.
Qatar retained the gold medal in the bowling triples event at the 4th GCC Games Doha 2026, thus maintaining among other brilliant performances on Thursday by a strong host nation dominating up to now so far under overcast skies at Katara village and then Al Arabi gymnastics.
Qatar’s Talal Al Marri, Bader Al Sada and Jassim Al Muraikhi topped the leaders board with 3,785 points in six games.
The silver medal went to Saudi Arabia with 3,655 points and Kuwait snatched bronze after finishing on 3,633 points.
Qatar bowling coach Khalifa Ali Al Kaabi said after the match, "We played well today and the win reflects the efforts we have been putting in. You can see how fast bowling is developing here (in Qatar).
The 10-ball doubles billiards gold medal went to Team Qatar during the ongoing 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026 in the Qatari capital until May 22.
The pair of Ali Al Obaidly and Abdul Latif Al Fawal, with Mansour Al Obaidly named reserve player, on Thursday lifted the title following their impressive 7-1 route over Kuwait in the final.
Qatari duo produced a brilliant technical display dominating the match ball throughout. Lebron opened a lead of over one frame and eventually confirmed the win with a huge six-frame victory.
Qatar secured their place in the final with a 7-4 victory against Saudi Arabia in the semifinals while Kuwait qualified after beating United Arab Emirates, 7-6.
The 10-ball doubles tournament featured five teams including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE. Two players and one reserve played for each team.
In billiards (5 events)- Throughout the Gulf Games Doha 2026, 10 competitions will take place in billiards and snooker. These billiards events are 10-ball singles, 9-ball singles, singles billiards, team billiards and 10-ball doubles. This snooker program includes singles snooker, team snooker, 6-red singles, 15-red singles and team events.
SEVEN players represent Qatar in billiards and snooker competitions Ali Al Obaidly, Muhanna Al Obaidly, Mansour Al Obeidli, Ahmed Saif, Bashar Hussein, Mishal Turki Al Ali and Abdul Latif Al Fawal.

Mohammed Al Faqih finished as a champion in the 55kg category following hot on the heels of another final place and silver medal for Mohammed Al Faqih, losing out on gold when falling 4-1 to Saudi Arabian opponent Mohannad Majrashi. Al Faqih had progressed to the final after defeating Emirati Sultan Abdullah convincingly in their semi-final.
Elsewhere, Mohammed Lasaad settled for silver in the 75kg division after losing to Bahrain's Ali Abdullah in the gold medal bout with a score of 4-1. Yousef Al Sayed, in the 60kg category, also took bronze.
The bronze medal haul, against tough regional competition, was a welcome result for the Qatari team and led to praise from Ghanem Saleh Al Kuwari, board member of the Qatar Boxing and Wrestling Federation.
The results would not only provide motivation but also further inspiration for Qatari boxing to keep the positive momentum going at Gulf, continental and international levels" he said.
